Minding Animals Conference: Animal Woodstock
The Animals and Society (Australia) Study Group announced today that the 2009 International Academic and Community Conference on Animals and Society will be held in Newcastle over the week between 12 and 19 July. US ‘Super Lawyer’ brings the business of animal law to Newcastle
Leading American animal protection lawyer, Bruce Wagman, will deliver a free public lecture at the University of Newcastle next week as part of the 2009 Voiceless Animal Law Lecture Series and The Minding Animals Pre-Conference Lecture Series. During a ten day tour of the eastern states he will explain why animals need and deserve legal protection, and why animal law is fast becoming one of the most talked about legal disciplines. Do animals have emotions?
Animals are emotional and empathic beings which show their feelings according to a leading American scholar from the University of Colorado, in Australia for a series of public lectures. Emeritus Professor Marc Bekoff will explain how recent research shows that animals have emotions. Professor Bekoff is a keynote speaker for the ‘Minding Animals’ conference to be held in Newcastle in 2009, and is in Australia for a series of pre-conference lectures. Read more ...
